To sensitise the students on the environmental degradation caused by the burning of fallen leaves, the students of the Eco-club “ Green Saviours” of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh conducted following activities:

1.       Collection of fallen leaves from the surroundings and dumping them into compost pit into useful manure.

2.       Used dry leaves to decorate notebooks and file covers.

3.       Talk by the teachers on harmful effects of burning of dry leaves on human health.

These activities are being conducted from time to time and all the helpers are also advised to segregate the leaves from litter and put them in a compost pit.

Students have enjoyed doing these eco friendly activities and set an example for “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”.
