Josephians bring laurels by winning Gold in Interschool Chess Tournament

It was indeed a moment of immense pride when  the students of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector-44 D, Chandigarh participated in Interschool Chess Tournament and brought laurels to the institution. The Josephites exhibited an outstanding display of strength, balance and invincible spirit of the budding players going on to ace the stiff competition in the Interschool Chess Tournament held at Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 18, Chandigarh.

Amid 18 schools, the Josephite team consisting of Ekaaksha, Aayush Monga, Raunik, Pranab, and Aayush  brought home the Gold (Medals)and glorified the name of the institution.

The Management Members and the Principal Ms. Monica Chawla applauded the efforts of the team and congratulated the players for their spectacular accomplishment. The unprecedented skill and competitive spirit was appreciated by everyone.

They also praised the consistent efforts put in by the coaches for bringing out the best from the young talented players.

It’s rightly said, that ‘Move in Silence only speak when it’s time to say CHECKMATE.’

KUDOS TO THE JOSEPH’S YOGA CHAMPIONS

“Every mountain top is within reach if you just keep climbing.”

Yoga champions added another feather to the cap of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh achievements and sports accolades. Josephites made the school proud by securing 3rd position under the age category 8-12 in the Shrimati Chand Rani Goswami Memorial Yoga Competition. The proud team members were Snehal (VI E), Sahaj (VF), Niyati (VI A) and Tamanna (VII G). All the winners got trophies and were ecstatic with their feats as they all made everyone proud with their tremendous achievements and outstanding efforts. They considered their tremendous accomplishments as a benchmark of their diligent labours.
The school management members and Principal Ms. Monica Chawla congratulated the winners for their splendid performances and arduous efforts in the sports journey. Ms. Chawla praised the department’s faculty members for yielding positive and appreciable results and motivated the Josephites to continue their efforts to achieve and excel in their endeavours.

Laurels for School at 1st Chandigarh State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament

“A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.”

It was time for celebration, laurels and accolades at St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School when our aspiring youngsters participated and won medals at the 1st Chandigarh State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament. The tournament was held at Sector 50, Sports Complex, Chandigarh from the 7th to the 9th of July, 2023.  The young competitors participated individually under various categories, making a mark with their stellar winning table tennis moves. The students win is a resounding affirmation of the school’s brilliant track record in the sports arena.

The winners included Neha Singh who won 2nd and 1st position in the U19 girls singles category and women singles respectively. Vani Sharma made her mark by winning 2nd position in the U15 girls singles and 1st position in the U17 and U19 girls singles category. Teetiksha Goel made the school and the city proud by bagging 1st position in the U15 girls singles and 3rd position in the U17, U19 and women singles competition. Pratiti Goel and Aditya added to the pride by winning 3rd position in U13 girls singles and 3rd place in the U15 boys singles respectively.

The ecstatic students shared their joy of winning and expressed gratitude towards the school and their mentors for their support and guidance. Holding the trophies, with their heads held high, the students told stories of their journey of perseverance, grit and hard work.

The revered Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla congratulated the young sportsmen for their excellent performance. She further stated that at St. Joseph’s encouraging holistic growth of each students lies at the core of our educational ideology, surging and aspiring them to settle for nothing but the best for themselves.

JOSEPHIANS BAG NATIONAL TOPPER POSITION IN HINDU STEP–LIVE OLYMPIAD

Josephians added one more feather to ST. JOSEPH’S cap by being national toppers and achievers. Many students won the Gold and Silver medals in THE HINDU STEP LIVE OLYMPIAD. Schools were a part of this platform to help their students to take a stride forward in the direction of quality assessments.

Amaya (Class I) came out with flying colours by bagging the NATIONAL Topper rank in SCIENCE and receiving a Gold Medal and a Mobile. Our proud National Level qualifiers Harshika Pant (Class II), Shivam Sharma (Class II) and Reyansh Vats (Class IV) secured Gold medals. Our other proud 11 Josephites, who are class toppers, bagged Silver Medals. Students of the school set an enviable benchmark with their laudable efforts. This initiative enabled learners to assess themselves with the rest of the students holding National ranks. The school has striven to stimulate learning in students through purposeful integration of academic content and assisting the development of a competitive spirit. The school has assisted students to become lifelong learners and contributors in today’s fast-paced world.

Josephites Proved their Mettle in the Taekwondo UT Inter School Tournament

The proverb that hard work and preserverance put together always bear fruits has been proved in the truest sense by the students of St.Joseph’s Sr.Sec. School Sector 44 D Chandigarh yet another time.

It was a proud moment for the school when the students bagged multiple prizes and medals at the

Taekwondo UT Inter School TournamentExhibiting spectacular feat Josephites champs performed brilliantly and brought marvellous achievements for the school.

Tanvir, Amanpreet and Lovish won Silver medals whereas Aadish,Aishwarya Romil, Shambhavi and Maitri were felicitated with bronze medals.Basking in the glory of success, students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the School and coaches for consistent support.

The Principal of the School, Ms Monica Chawla felicitated the winners on their stupendous achievement. She motivated them to keep the flame of enthusiasm burning and touching new heights of success.

Josephites Won Second Position in the UT Inter School Yoga Tournament

Sports in no shape or form is considered to be an extracurricular activity anymore. With abundant opportunities emerging in the sporting world, St. Joseph’s Sr.Sec.School, Sector 44 D Chandigarh engaged in preparing the students for the same. Continuing the legacy of multitude of activities and hundreds of prizes,Josephites once again made their mark with an  inimitable achievement by winning Second Position in the Yoga UT Inter School Tournament. The tournament was held between 2nd November, 2022 to 9th December, 2022.

It was a great delight to see the participants perform various Asans such as Chakraasan,Parvatasan and Shirshaasan with so much agility. Josephites put their best foot forward to display their potential for yoga. The judges appreciated the hard work of students and declared the results.

Students owe their victory to their mentors and coaches who left no stone unturned to make them practice regularly.

The revered Principal Ms Monica Chawla congratulated the winners and emphasized on the importance of Yoga which will finally lead them to both physical & mental well being.

Bagged Gold Medal in Roller Skating

‘There are no limits to what you can achieve. Dream big, aim high and never give up.’

We take immense pride to share that the students of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School Sector – 44 D Chandigarh participated in various Roller Skating Competitions and brought laurels to the institution.

The Josephites witnessed the outstanding display of strength, balance and indomitable spirit of the budding athletes to ace the stiff competition in the 60th National Roller Skating Championship. Abhiyudya IX-A bagged a gold medal and impressed everyone with his exemplary skills.

Our Josephites outshone in the State Level Skating Tournament held at Sector-10, Skating rink, Chandigarh.

Samaira Jaswal, IV-C won one gold and one silver and Aditya Kapil, XI also bagged a gold medal. Besides this many silver and bronze medals also glorified the name of the institution.

Besides this, Samaira Jaswal, IV-C also won three gold medals and Lavya Bhatti VI-B won two gold and one silver medal in the Inter School Skating Tournament held at Sector-10, Skating rink, Chandigarh.

The Director Sir and the Principal applauded the effort of the team and congratulated the players for their spectacular accomplishment. The unprecedented skill and competitive spirit was appreciated by everyone.

With immense pleasure we are delighted to announce that her vision to bring about a change in the field of Education and  to promote’ Eat Right Habits’ amongst  students was recognized when she  was bestowed with the prestigious ‘Award of Honour’ by Nivedita Trust for Aahar Kranti  in  the Mega Event titled  Role of Women in Nation Building” that had  been organised in collaboration with MCM DAV College Chandigarh.

The prestigious ceremony witnessed the presence of  Sh. Som Parkash Ji ,Minister of State for Commerce and Industries ,Sh. Gian Chand Gupta Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Sh. Narender Kumar ji Prant Prachark , Prem Chand Ji Goyal,eminent Social Worker, eminent singers Ms Jaspinder Narula and Ms Dolly Guleria .

St.Joseph’s carved a niche for itself by being the only School in Chandigarh to be felicitated with this prestigious ‘Award of Honour’ .The award was accorded for  leading from the forefront most ably, for her Visionary Approach, Unparallel Efforts, Promotion of Eat Right Habits, Qualitative Academic Initiatives and Inspirational Leadership.

Celebrating victory at the Final Level of SCERT Exhibition, 2022-23

The dedicated and conscientious efforts of the students and teachers of St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh once again called for jubilation and celebration when we bagged the first prize at the Final Level of the State Level Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition for Children- 2022-23. The victory added yet another feather to the crown of the school, making everyone proud of the incredible accomplishment.

The Exhibition is an annual feature of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), UT Chandigarh aiming to identify and nurture the inventive and the creative talent amongst the students. It is a remarkable forum for children to pursue their natural curiosity and inventiveness to satisfy their thirst for creativity. The main theme for this year exhibition given by NCERT is “Technology for Toys” and various sub-themes pertaining to the subject. The State Level Exhibition was organized at two levels i.e. The Primary Level and the Final Level in the premises of SCERT, Sector 32-C, Chandigarh.

Riya Goel and Vanshika of class 8 under the mentorship of Ms. Rama Garg won the first prize at the Final Level of the State Exhibition in the “Mathematics for Us” category while Aditya Saini of class 7  and Arnav Rana of class 8 won a consolation prize under the guidance of Ms. Anita Rana in the “Health and Cleanliness” category. The students worked round the clock under the able guidance of their teachers to curate innovative and practical models for the esteemed exhibition. Availing the opportunity to its maximum, the students came up with ground breaking ideas and crafted models which helped them mark the extraordinary accomplishment. The winners shared that the victory has filled them with new passion and motivation to do better and use Science and Technology to serve humanity at large.
