Kindergarten wing of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec School, Sector 44 D, Chandigarh was immersed in yellow hue as the tiny tots celebrated Basant Panchami, an Indian festival, also known as the Festival of Kites. The significance lies in the worship of Goddess Saraswati, a symbol of wisdom and also the onset of spring season. All the students brought yellow delights in their lunch-boxes that they shared with their peers. They relished sweet yellow rice the most, a traditional dessert especially made on this day. Children enjoyed colouring the worksheets based on the festival. Tiny tots as well as their teachers enjoyed the ritual of kite flying on the occasion to celebrate freedom and enjoyment. The whole day was full of mirth and each one enjoyed to the hilt.
