“Legacies are not built in a day; they are breathed into life, day after day, by hearts that dare to dream and hands that strive to serve.”

The 44th Founder’s Day celebrations at St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh, were a glorious tribute to the enduring vision of the school’s Foundress, Ms. Harjinder Kaur (Biji)—whose ideals of empathy, service, and excellence continue to illuminate every Josephite’s journey. This vision is passionately upheld by the esteemed Management Members, Mr. Sukhdeep Grewal and Mr. Paramdeep Grewal, whose steadfast commitment ensures that Biji’s legacy flourishes, guiding the school as a beacon of learning, compassion, and integrity. At the heart of this living legacy stands Principal Mrs. Monica Chawla, whose visionary leadership and unwavering dedication have transformed Biji’s dream into a dynamic reality, inspiring generations of Josephites to embody the values of empathy, creativity, and service.Under her guidance, the week unfolded as a symphony of celebration—through Inter-School Competitions that sparked creativity, compassionate visits to SOREM, Vatika, the Blind School, and SPCA, and the forthcoming Educational Melas—each initiative a testament that Founder’s Day is lived daily, not merely observed annually.

The Founder’s Day itself rose as the crescendo of this week of tributes. A self-composed poem by teachers, a skit laced with humor and heart, and the release of the Founder’s Day Newsletter —curated under the initiative of Mrs. Jagmeet Kaur, HOD English Department—infused the occasion with cultural and intellectual grace.

The celebration glowed further with the felicitation of former mentors, honoring stalwarts whose unwavering guidance has shaped generations of Josephites. In a moment of pride and emotion, the school also honored the members of JADE (Josephite Alumni Dedicated Endeavour), whose bond with their alma mater and commitment to carrying forward its legacy stand as a beacon for future generations.Adding to the day’s warmth, teachers completing 15 years of devoted service were recognized as pillars of the institution, while the conferment of Marigold Badges upon faculty renowned for their selfless helpfulness underscored the school’s spirit of gratitude.

Gracing the occasion with his esteemed presence, Mr. Sukhdeep Grewal elevated the grandeur of the day with his warmth and words of encouragement. Extending heartfelt wishes on Founder’s Day, Management Members Mr. Sukhdeep Grewal and Mr. Paramdeep Grewal lauded the Josephite family for transforming education into an experience where learning walks hand in hand with empathy, creativity, and service.

The celebrations embraced myriad cultural and creative endeavors—performances, contributions from students across classes, and alumni participation—that together reflected the school’s spirit of unity, excellence, and service.

The day culminated in a community langar , symbolizing equality and shared humanity—the very heartbeat of St. Joseph’s. As the evening sky embraced the campus, it was clear that this was not a finale but a continuation of a legacy, one that grows richer with every passing year.

“Some visions are too vast to be confined to history; they live on—in classrooms, in courtyards, in the countless hearts they continue to inspire.”
