School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh,had the distinguished honour of hosting the Grand Finale of the Shloka Recitation Competition, a landmark event under Sashakt Baal Mahotsav 3.0—an inspired cultural movement envisioned as the brainchild of Ms. Shipra Bansal, Chairperson, CCPCR, whose unwavering commitment has revived a citywide renaissance of heritage and value-based learning.The event commenced with the august presence of Prof. Devi Sirohi, Former Chairperson, CCPCR, whose dignified arrival bestowed immense grace upon the gathering. The occasion was further enriched by the gracious presence of Ms. Shipra Bansal, whose visionary leadership has been instrumental in shaping and nurturing the Mahotsav. As the original conceptual mind behind this competition, her continued guidance lends the event its distinctive purpose and direction. Both dignitaries were warmly welcomed with eco-friendly planters, symbolising growth, reverence, and the institution’s enduring commitment to a greener future.
Nearly 60 finalists transformed the school hall into a sanctified space as they recited sacred Sanskrit shlokas with poise, precision, and devotion, reflecting a profound connection with India’s timeless spiritual treasury.The Finale was evaluated by an erudite panel comprising Acharya Shashi Vashishth, Acharya Sumit Sankhyan, Acharya Vineet Kanav—each lending scholarly integrity and discerning expertise to the event.
The young participants captivated the audience with their clarity, composure, and spiritual poise, reaffirming that heritage is not merely inherited but carried forward by enlightened young voices.The results of the competition were formally announced to enthusiastic applause, acknowledging the merit and dedication displayed by the finalists.
In her eloquent address, Chief Guest Prof. Devi Sirohi praised the cultural depth of the competition, remarking that “The Shloka Recitation Mahotsav is a beautiful initiative that nurtures discipline, devotion, and a deep connection with our civilisational roots.” She also appreciated the ambience and organisation of the event, noting that “St. Joseph’s has provided a dignified and enabling space for young participants to showcase their talent.
