St Joseph's Sr Sec School, Chandigarh :

In a move to equip young learners with practical skills for real-life emergencies, students of Classes IX and X took part in a hands-on First Aid Activity as part of the school’s experiential learning initiative. Moving beyond conventional classroom instruction, the session put students in the role of active learners, giving them an opportunity to observe, practise and apply basic first-aid techniques under guidance.

Through live demonstrations and supervised practice, students learnt basic first-aid responses for situations such as minor cuts and wounds, burns, nosebleeds, sprains and fainting. The interactive format helped transform theoretical knowledge into practical understanding while reinforcing the importance of staying calm, seeking adult help and responding safely.

The initiative highlighted the school’s commitment to learning through experience, empowering students with skills that extend beyond academics and contribute to their overall preparedness.

The session concluded with the message that first aid is a life skill—and knowing how to respond can make every moment count.
