A rally was also organised by the members of the Eco – Club, better known as ‘Earth Saviours’. Students displayed handmade posters and went around chanting Anti – Pollution, Save Earth, Go Green slogans. The Rally which started from the school premises went up to the Community Centre and all along the route, smiles and appreciation came their way as people in the neighbourhood encouraged the students for their well meaning efforts. The students also contributed by cleaning out the park and community centre located near the school. The ‘Earth Saviours’ also got an opportunity to learn about Herbarium which is a collection of preserved plant specimens and its associated data, for scientific study. The students made a Herbarium File wherein specimens will be pasted in dried form – to be used as reference material. They were also motivated to plant a tree on every special occasion of their lives be it a birthday or any festival.
All the above mentioned activities are part and parcel of the curriculum of the institution and are conducted with the aim to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
