Leaving a trial for others to emulate, Garima Rai, a student of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School of Class XI earned a slice of glory and made her school proud by emerging as a winner in an ‘Inter-School Declamation Contest’ on the ‘Harmful effects and impact of Tobacco’ organised by ‘Sahayta Charitable Society’ to mark the ‘World No Tobacco Day’. Around 70 schools of the tricity participated and presented their views on health risks associated with tobacco use. “Creating Waves” Garima entranced the audience with her gift of gab and outshined others with her eloquent and thought provoking views on gruesome effects of tobacco. She was awarded with a First Prize, A trophy, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 1500/- Basking in the glory of success, students expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her school and mentors Ms. Manjeet Kaur and Ms. Rubyna for consistent support.
