St. Joseph’s School has set the benchmark for conducting debates every fortnight in such a way that the students not only enjoy but also learn a great deal from them. With the same perspective in view, the school organized a debate competition for the students of class IX & X. The topic of the debate was, ‘SOCIAL MEDIA HAS LED TO MORE ISOLATION’. The representatives of the various houses spoke vehemently on the issue and came up with their perspective regarding the same. They cited reasons and supported them with suitable examples from real life to justify their stand.
The judges were engrossed in listening to the students and had to ask a tie breaker question in order to declare the winners. The co-ordinator of the block Ms. Priya Sebastian discussed the advantages and disadvantages of social media and motivated students to take part in upcoming debates. The judges adjudged Amisha Kanwar & Sheetal Mannan of Raman House as first and second position respectively whereas Lipi Sharma of Tagore House and Nandini of Ashoka House bagged third position. The students of class IX & X, who were the audience left enlightened about the media.
