‘Today is a very precious day.
Someone special was born.
Born to fight against sin.
Born to save the trust in God.’
As is the tradition every year, Janmashtami was celebrated this year too with great religious fervor by the Primary and Kindergarten Wing of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh.
The fragrance of flowers, soothing aroma of burning camphor and the jingle of bells filled the school premises.
Students brought colour to the occasion by dressing up in fancy clothes resembling the mythological characters i.e. the Nat Khat Kanha and Radha, Sudhama etc
The tiny tots of kindergarten presented a beautiful dance form ‘Govinda Ala Re’ and ‘Bhajan Recital’ as well.
Students of class 1 and 2 tapped their feet on ‘Nand Ke’ and Govind Hare’. The solo Bhajan by a Nursery student ‘Raizee’ won the hearts of all.
The students of classes 3, 4 & 5 enacted scenes from Krishna Raslila to recreate incidents from the life of Lord Krishna and his love for Radha. The little Radha- Krishna along with his gopies looked adorable in their traditional costumes.
The involvement of the students in Janamashtami celebrations at such a tender age was worth applauding. Students were also told about the significance of the occasion and were appraised about the sayings of Lord Krishna.
To make the students aware of the rich Hindu mythology, the school organized Mukut making activity, Pot making and flute decorating competition. All these competitions added more flavor to the celebrations.
The entire campus was transformed into a land of joy, celebrations and happiness.
The Principal Ms. Monica Chawla congratulated the students and staff on their brilliant performances and blessed the students on this occasion.
