An Inter Class Debate was organized for the students of class VIII at St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh. The Topic of the Debate was the GST – the burning hot issue these days. Ever since the Lok Sabha passed this bill for Goods and Services, the entire country has been discussing little else. Debating helps students to develop their skills in the field of research, they learn to take forward a sustained argument and present their point of view in a systematic and civcilised manner. Well, so it was for the Josephians. The students were well prepared and sparks flew as they got down to debating the Pros and Cons of having this Bill implemented. The ‘war of words’ brought out the best in the students who overcame their stage fright and gave it their all as they battled it out. The cheers of the audience boosted their morale even further as each participant vied for the top Spot. The winners were picked on the basis of their Content, Confidence and Presentation. The First Position was shared by Advait of VIII-B as well as Yagyam of class VIII- D. Gursirat of class VIII-F bagged the Second Position while Gunjan of Class VIII- B stood Third. Consolation was awarded to Saksham of class VIII-D. Such debates are an integral part of the school curriculum and all Josephians are encouraged by Principal Ms. Monica Chawla to put their best foot forward and aim to shine in every endeavor.
