A cleanliness drive was conducted on the 6th of October in the Secondary Block of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector- 44 D. This activity was conducted by the Ashoka House. The importance of cleanliness in and around is of paramount importance , especially since Shramdaan is a part of school curriculum and is encouraged at all the levels. There is no better way to teach children about the importance of cleanliness , than to letting them getting down to it themselves and allowing their hands to get a little dirty and messy for a once. To have pride in one’s school is important, but to act responsibily and take care of it is another and that was done in the classrooms with great vigour and enthusiasm. Newspapers and rags were preferred for the cleaning process. By the end of the cleaning spree- there were dirty rags, sparkling windows, smiling faces and yes, a school that shone- all because of the efforts of the students. A job well done and a lesson well learnt for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
