‘The Earth without Ozone is like a house without a roof.’
The Green Saviours – members of the Eco Club at St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. school, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh came together to celebrate and mark the World Ozone Day. 16th September has been proclaimed as the International Day for the Preservation of Ozone Layer by the United Nations General Assembly in 1994. Henceforth, this day has been celebrated all over the world to create awareness of the significance of the Ozone, a fragile shield of gas, protecting the earth from the harmful rays of the sun.
Interesting activities related to the theme for this year (2017) were conducted for the students of the Middle Block. The Josephian Green Saviours, putting their best efforts forward, participated enthusiastically in the Self Composed Story Writing and Enactment. They also designed colourful, striking Posters and created thought provoking Slogans for the Poster Making and Slogan Writing Activities. The efforts of the students were highly appreciated and applauded by Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla who went on to say that every single attempt to save, protect and preserve the environment is well worth the effort- indeed it the need of the hour.
