The students of St. Jospeh’s participated in training of Peer Education under Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram held on 4th October 2017 at RCH Auditorium, NHM – 22. It was organized to enlighten the students about the problems faced by them especially during their adolescent period. The life of students is very stressful and hectic now adays as they are facing stiff competition in today’s technical world. Dr. Paramjyoti Thind discussed about health and nutrition, causes of anemia and the present lifestyle of the students and suggested the ways to remain healthy and free from diseases. She gave a special talk on menstrual cycle and personal hygiene. Dr. Madhu gave important information to students regarding adolescence, sexual and reproductive health system. They also talked about bullying and its different forms and taught the methods to save themselves from the same ensuring their self respect. The students also asked many questions from the resource persons which satisfied their queries. A workshop will also be organized in the school by these students who attended the session to train their peers regarding health, hygiene and bullying, the day had brought lot of learning and exposer which helped them understand their growth graph better.
