The young ‘Street Rockers’ the Dramatics team of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sec 44 – D, Chandigarh seem to be on a winning spree these days, bagging Four Prizes in the Asia’s Longest Theatre Festival organized by the TFT, ‘Theatre For Theatre’. The event was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the Guru Jambeshwar Hissar University, Professor Tankeshwar Prasad as well as Dr. K. Kohli and Councellor Sh. Shakti Singh. The competition was judged by a highly esteemed panel comprising of Sh. Arun Betaab, Mrs. Geeta Gandhi – both renowned writers whose words of advice to all participants were keenly taken up by them.
The Josephians had participated in the Hasya Kavi Sammelan (Category 6-8) and with God’s grace managed to sweep away all the coveted prizes. Shivam of Class VIII – B bagged the First Position with his poem ‘Railgaadi Ki Yatra’ which had everyone in splits with his real life rendition of a journey by train. Mannat of VI-D who chose the topic ‘Fashion’ and Abhay Pratap Singh of VIII-C who recited the hiklarious ‘Patni Ke Sataya Pati’ were awarded the Second and Third Positions respectively. A Consolation was also given to Prajanya for his poem ‘Pati Ki Pukar’.
The students were much appreciated and due credit was also given to their teacher Ms. Anita Gareja under whose guidance the team is going from strength to strength. The Chief Guests and Mr. Vikrant (Joint Secretary), Ms. Rajm Bajaj (Event Coordinator) as well as the judges were full of praise for the students’ confidence and eloquence.
Principal Ms. Monica Chawla warmly congratulated the whole team and showered them with blessings for a bright future ahead.
