 St. Joseph’s rocks in Interschool Declamation Contest

To highlight the health risks associated with tobacco use,World No Tobacco Day, designated by the WHO is observed every year on May 31. Among 55 schools , St.Joseph’s Shreya Chawla, a student of class Xth got first position in Tricity in the interschool declamation contest organised by Sahayta Charitable Welfare Society on the ‘Harmful Effects of Tobacco’ at St. Stephen’s School, Sector 45, Chandigarh. Shreya Chawla made audience cognizant  about malicious effects of smoking.She laid emphasis  on her dream for India being a tobacco free country. The Judges, renowned educationists

Ms.Usha Jeevan, Ms.Usha Gupta, Ms.Indu Verma, Ms. Rajni Sharma, Ms.Udesh Puri and Mr. Arya had a very tough time selecting the winners as the contest witnessed a neck to neck struggle of dexterous articulation between all the participants. The judges applauded Shreya Chawla for her originality, confidence and amazing elocatory skills.The school principal Ms.Monica Chawla praised the efforts of the winner  Shreya Chawla and expressed that such competitions lead to free flow of ideas and help in sensitizing towards the issues that need attention.
