It is the teacher who is made to feel special on her day i.e. Teacher’s day but teachers at St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh under the guidance of Principal, Mrs. Monica Chawla decided to contribute to the society by holding special classes for children of slum area other organizations like orphanage. The teachers alongwith their students visited various organizations and special places to make their day special for others too.A team of students accompanied their teachers went to Mother Teresa’sOrphanage Sector 23 and related inspirational stories to the inmates. An air o f calmness pervaded the house as innocence combined with special ness could be felt all around. A teacher also spoke about a few important etiquettes that one should keep in mind in our daily routine. A nukkad natak kept everyone enthralled . Another talented teacher taught some of the inmates origami and with much interest the learners took on this artistic challenge.A visit was also made to the Blind School in Sector 26 where bhajan’s were sung and Antakshari played. To be contributors in some way to the society is the ultimate that we can do, especially on this special occasion. Students danced with Joy at the tunes of song sung by the teachers.Some teachers also went to the Slum Area is Sector 25 where pot making and painting of followers was taught to the children. As the day came to a close, a sense of tremendous peace and doing something for others was felt by the teachers who went to these places. Memorable moments celebrated in a unique way and so very special for all.
