C.B.S.E. Zone II Taekwondo Tournament open at St. Joseph’s

 The opening ceremony of C.B.S.E. North Zone II, Taekwondo Tournament was marked at St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh.  There was a soul to it- a soul that was vibrant, contagious and exuberant. Over 1500 students from 250 schools across the North Zone will set off themselves to accept the hard challenges so that they may feel the exhilaration of victory. They will participate in the different age categories namely- Under 14, Under 17 and Under 19 (Boys and Girls) over the next 3 days.The ceremony was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Khanderao,  Regional Officer & Joint Secretary, C.B.S.E. Panchkula who warmly welcomed by the Director Mr. Rupinder Singh and the other Members of the Management. He graced the school with his invaluable presence. The dignitaries set the ball rolling by lighting the ceremonial lamp.                         

The Chief Guest hoisted the CBSE Flag. All the contingents solemnly took the Oath of Allegiance, committing themselves to the highest standards of fair play, ethical conduct by observing the rules which govern the tournament in honour of this glorious game.

On the opening ceremony, the Josephian troupes enchanted everyone with their highly engaging and wonderfully rich performances thereby amusing the onlookers. Music is a powerful tool that acts as an energy fuel for a sportsperson and gears up his/her performance. Thus, the tempo of motivational song filled everyone with the oodles of ‘Power’, ‘Self – confidence’ and above all ‘Winning Spirit’. The dazzling Bengali classical dance performed on the mellifluous tunes filled the atmosphere with soulful jubilation.

The Principal of the host school, Ms. Monica Chawla delivered the welcome speech stating that a winner emerges when he has utilized every ounce of energy to accomplish the goal and has left no stone unturned. To invoke the pulsating desire that transcends the seedlings of dream into reality, Ms. Monica Chawla emphasized on setting the goals, constant practice and accepting challenges as the key elements that can pull oneself up the ladder of success.

Success is where preparation and opportunity meet

and here we extend a platform for that meet

 She said that the sports are the key to fitness and success as they calm our minds and prepare us for the rest of our life.A jingoistic and frenetic patriotic and motivational dance charged the atmosphere with gaiety.        

The Chief Guest addressed the gathering by mentioning the crucial support rendered by the school administration in making arrangements for the grand occasion and helping the teams to sail through smoothly. He appreciated the schools courage to accept big challenges with a smile. Signifying the importance of Sports in our lives, he said that they teach us punctuality, patience, discipline and team work. He appreciated the zeal & enthusiasm f the principal for her innovative approach,  untiring efforts of the coaches in bringing forth the young players talent and the holistic vision of the Management . The Chief Guest then declared the C.B.S.E. North Zone II Taekwondo Tournament open by releasing the balloons which soared high symbolizing the heights to be achieved by the students coming from different regions of the country.
