Students of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School presented a street play on ‘Child Safety’ at Bestech Mall, Mohali on 21-04-2019. The students performed the skit in a very enthusiastic way to sensitise the audience about the need of safety of the children and were successful in driving home the point that every child should be secure. The play also laid stress on the fact that it is the responsibility of society to follow safety guidelines and protect children. The need to stay safe and the importance of parental involvement, is gaining widespread attention through such street plays.
The street play concludes effectively that children’s voices, choices and participation are critical for the sustainable future we want. They are not only the inheritors of the planet; they also actively shape it in the present. Inclusive and people-centered development means investing in the well-being and empowerment of children and young people so they can become the effective guardians of a sustainable world.
The Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla was elated and appreciated the efforts of the students. She added that such kind of activities makes the children acquainted with the real life challenges prevalent in the developing sector of the society.
