‘Our cultural and natural heritages are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration. They are our touchstones, our points of reference, our identity’: UNESCO WORLD Heritage Information Kit         As every year, this year too St Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector-44-D, Chandigarh marked the historical and significant day i.e. World Heritage Day in the school premises. World Heritage Day (International Day for Monuments & Sites) was created in 1982 by the International Council on Monuments and Sites which was approved at the UNESCO General Conference in 1983. The Josephian were addressed on the importance of preserving our cultural and natural heritage which is a legacy from our past; something that we live with today and what we will pass on to our future generations. It has been rightly said that there is no time better than the present – and so where better to start with, than our children. A video was shown in all the classes depicting the rich cultural heritage of India, a country that symbolizes Unity in Diversity. The main aim of showing the video  is to promote awareness about the cultural diversity and the efforts required for their protection and conservation. Students get an opportunity to appreciate the rich cultural history not only of their own country but of nations the world over.Principal Ms. Monica Chawla showed her deep concern for our youth to be oblivious towards our rich history and culture and motivated the Josephians to come forth and create awareness.
