A dance contingent was sent by St. Joseph’s School, Sec 44-D to the parade ground Sector 17, for Independence Day Celebrations. The group of dancers were a unique amalgamation of the Western, Indian Classical and Bhangra forms of dance. The students performing on the western dance in free style, twirled friskily on popular patriotic songs. The classical dance forms saw tremendous grace as the students expressed their love for the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for their nation. The team of Bhangra students danced to the rhythm and beat of the ‘dhol’ and made their presence felt with quick and brisk movements. After having given individual performances of the various forms,- the students made a formation that looked phenomenal and brilliant with tri-colours splashed across the ground. A loud sound of ‘Jai Hind’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ greeted the performances as they concluded with their breath-taking presentation.
The colourful costumes along with the appropriate props added to the charm of the Josephian performance. As the students left the parade ground, the meaningful slogans displayed by the contingents rang loud and clear in the ears of these youngsters. Some of them aptly read- ‘Wishing our dreams of a new tomorrow come true for us- Now and Always’. Another valuable slogan was- ‘May there be Peace and Prosperity and may we rejoice in the Blessings that Our Country has given us’. Great takeaways, especially for the youth and future of India. The Principal Ms. Monica Chawla appreciated the efforts of these students and choreographers and wished the enthusiastic team on the grand occasion of India’s Independence Day.
