The students of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School went on a field trip to IISER Mohali on 31st July. The trip was informative and educative for the students as they learnt extensively all about conservation of water. They were also given a first hand information on Sewage Treatment Plant. They learnt about the air moisture machine that is made in Japan and can filter water upto 40 litres at one time. The students were informed about the uses of the wasted RO water. It can be used for gardening, bathing etc. Additional information was given on the techniques of Rain Water Harvesting and Ground Water Recharging. The children gained important knowledge that would be vital in day to day life.They were explained about hydrophonic power.The students were apprised of anaerobic respiration and about the various pollutants in water. It was not only an enjoyable experience for the students and faculty of St.Joseph’s but also gave them something to ponder on. The Principal Monica Chawla and the staff members on behalf of the students expressed their gratitude for a whole hearted support and undivided attention. And, the school looks forward to umpteen more trips in the future for the benefit of the children.
