 World Youth Day

St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School celebrated the World Youth day on 13th Aug 2019. Two students from each house of secondary section of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School showed their public speaking skills in a debate competition organised by Tagore house at Hall No. 2 in the School. The topic of the debate was “Is competition necessary for learning”.The participants shared their views in favour and against the topic and a rebuttal round was also held in the end of the debate.Coordinator of Secondary Block Ms Priya and Coordinator of Primary II Ms Jyothi were the judges and the debate was judged on various parameters including content, body language, delivery and capability to answer rebuttal round convincingly.Sanya Mehta of Ashoka house was adjudged the winner, Gursirat Kaur of Ranjit House was the first runner up. Position of the second runner up went to Gunjan Sabharwal of Tagore house. A consolation price was won by Twinky Sachdeva of Raman House.Overall, it was a topic where speaking against it definitely required special preparation and skills. All the participants did their best and showed lot of enthusiasm.This opportunity gave them time to understand their own thought processes clearly and helped in enhancing analytical and logical skills in them.
