Teacher’s Day was celebrated at St Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44 D Chandigarh, with immense zeal and great exhilaration to show gratitude towards one of the greatest pillars of the society, who play an instrumental role in shaping the future of children in particular and society in general.
The School Management left no stone unturned to make this day a memorable one for the teachers. A fun filled outing was arranged for the teachers at an exotic location i.e Ramgarh Fort. A warm welcome at the Fort’s gate with flowers and kumkum tilak with Principal Ms. Monica Chawla personally welcoming every teacher, was a pleasant surprise for all the teachers and made them feel nostalgic and a deep sense of belonging to the institute was prevalent on each and every face. The teachers dressed in their best attires made the ambience very lively and colourful. The song and the dance performances put up by the music and the dance teachers enthralled everyone. The senior staff members were appreciated for their valuable contribution. Many faculty members were also acknowledged for being the most dedicated, sincere and proactive in their working arenas. Stimulating games like ‘Tug of War’ were planned which reminded the teachers of their school days.
The revered school Principal Ms. Monica Chawla acknowledged the sincere efforts of every teacher for the painstaking effort they selflessly put in everyday and further motivated them to discharge their duties with full devotion and to play the role of ‘Special Angels’ in student’s lives. The teachers had a rollicking time tapping their feet on the groovy beats of the DJ. The day culminated with a sumptuous lunch treat for the teachers.
As St. Joseph has always been different in ways that has kept the school unique. This year also apart from making the day memorable for the teachers, the school continued its philanthropic endeavor ‘Teaching Beyond Walls’ that was the brain child of the Principal who initiated this programme last year to enable the society at large to be touched by the teaching community. In context to this, a week prior to Teacher’s Day, the students and the staff members visited ‘Old Age Home’, ‘Phingalwara’ , ‘Sorem’ and ‘Mother Teresa’s Orphanage’. The idea behind this initiative was to do our bit as an educational institution and to bring joy in the lives of as many underprivileged people of our society as possible.
The Management members Mr. Sukhdeep Singh and Mr. Paramdeep Singh, appreciated the venture undertaken by Josephian staff and further mentioned that it is important to learn and practice the art of helping others and congratulated the mentors for making the students following the path of goodness and benevolence.
