St. Joseph’s Sector 44-D has had a trend of letting the students hear from their schools’ doctor about some important health issue each month. For the month of September, the health specialist Dr. Megha spoke on a relevant issue Dengue.
This was for the students of the Secondary block of the school. The Doctor informed the children about various aspects of this disease. She began by telling them about the symptoms of dengue which included high fever, headache, muscle and joint pain. There could also be nausea and skin rashes. She also told the children that the best prevention is to avoid mosquito bites. Apart from this using screens on doors, having kids to wear long-sleeved shirts and pants and to use mosquito repellents are also necessary ways as precautions. By taking such precautions the risk of contracting the fever is small. This talk to these young students was indeed helpful for children as they would be more aware of this disease. The Principal Ms. Monica Chawla has stressed the need for such important sessions on health as they go a long way in helping children to understand about many health related problems, their precautions and of their cure.
So the students of St. Joseph’s had another interesting day at school, as they not only learnt, played, enjoyed themselves but came back much wiser after an important session on health- something we all need to know and understand for our well-being.
