A team of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School’s Senior Secondary students along with Ms. Divya (PGT-Biology) availed an opportunity to visit PGIMER’S Biomedical Instruments and Devices Hub- A Centre of Innovation, Design and Clinical Validation.
After a warm reception and introductory session by Dr. G. D. Puri Dean Research, Prof. and Head of Dept. of Anaesthesia, PIGMER the students were taken for live demonstration of Cardiopulmonary Bypass Machine (CPB Machine). The machine is used for Heart By-Pass surgery, the students were told about the functioning and handling of the machine and the role of the Perfusionist was highlighted.
The students were enticed on hearing about the healthcare professional as he operates the cardiopulmonary bypass machine (heart–lung machine) during cardiac surgery and other surgeries that require cardiopulmonary bypass to manage the patient’s physiological status.
This project was undertaken as an initiative to promote Bio-medical Science among the budding science scholars and generate innovative ideas. The students were keen to learn, explore and indulge in an interactive session on learning mind blogging facts about the longest By-Pass Surgery. The visit ended on an ambitious note with knowledge for their mind and dream for their eyes.
On the whole, the educational trip was full of enthusiasm and learning. Senior Secondary Students were further prompted by the Principal Ms. Monica Chawla to not let one’s passion ever fade off but, always strive wholeheartedly and make their dreams come true.
