The secondary block at St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec School, Sector 44D, paid tribute to the personnel of the Armed forces on 15th January to mark the occasion of Army day. An inspiring video was shown to the students that highlighted huge sacrifices made by the soldiers to ensure National security. The men in uniform do whatever it takes to defend their nation from any external aggression, thus maintain peace and security. An inspirational talk was also given by Ms. Paramjit , English teacher, who spoke on why youngsters can consider joining the army as career option. She mentioned how this profession not only provide job security but youngsters can look forward to a career of excitement and challenges. Apart from ensuring a healthier lifestyle, the rigorous training also enhances the personality that makes an army person stand out. The students were also told about the 1971 Indo-Pak encounter and many tales of bravery and valour that came from the battlefield. Who can ever forget the valiant soldier Capt. Vikram Batra whose bravery inspired the entire nation during the Kargil war? Other war heroes were spoken of with immense pride as they laid down their lives for the country.
Thus, the Indian Soldier was saluted for his devotion and sacrifice, from none other than the young children and that too from their temple of knowledge- from their school St. Joseph’s
