Every year 24th October is celebrated as United Nations Day. In the year 1945, the United Nations was officially established. On this occasion, Primary-1 Block of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector-44 D, Chandigarh has taken an initiative to mark the importance of “UN Day” by disseminated information through the PowerPoint presentation shared by the teachers. Also the Children of Class 1 & 2 were apprised by sharing videos on how UN is fighting towards poverty, maternal health, Primary Education for all and above all works for peace. Children listened intently and were fascinated to hear about United Nations by raising questions on the same.
The School Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla also threw light on the massive and enormous amount of work done by the UN across the world which cannot be measured. She told the importance of maintaining and promoting peace and the feeling of brotherhood among different nations
