A TRIBUTE TO MAHARAJA RANJIT SINGH BY JOSEPHIANS

St. Joseph’s Sen. Sec. School, Chandigarh paid rich tributes to Maharaja Ranjit Singh – The Great Sikh Emperor whose birthday is celebrated on 13th November. Students were given some interesting activities to do and they were kept busy making them for the upcoming event. He is also known as the ‘Sher-E-Punjab’ (The Lion of Punjab). Josephians prepared PPTs, short videos, posters, flow –charts, mind maps and beautiful sketches to pay homage to the Sikh leader. In today’s digital age, students expressed their views through PPTS and short videos on the contribution of Maharaja Ranjit Singh as a unifying and most dynamic leader in Indian history, who played a pivotal role in the promotion of education, social reforms, nation-building and his iron hand rule in that era. The motive of conducting these activities was to make youngsters aware of the history and culture of the country on the one hand and to inspire them to think and work creatively in order to promote artistic and technical excellence on the other hand. It was overwhelming to see the enthusiasm and interest taken by students while doing these activities.
The School Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla complimented the youngsters for their participation and interest taken in such heritage promotion steps. She also praised the teachers for tapping the hidden talents in the children
