A TRIBUTE TO THE NATION BY YOUNG JOSEPHIANS ON REPUBLIC DAY
Republic Day is celebrated across the country on the 26th of January with great zeal and enthusiasm. To mark this all important day, the teachers of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec School, Sector 44, organized various online activities for the Junior and Senior students of the school. The Nursery students got a glimpse of ‘Incredible India,’when they were shown videos of their fascinating country. A virtual fancy dress activity was conducted for the students of Pre-Kg. Children got a sense of pride and patriotism as they clad themselves in the Tri – colour. Teachers also showed PPT’s about the significance of this great day on which the Constitution of India came into effect. Various activities like tri colour umbrella making, fan making and card making were conducted in the Primary wing of the school. In the Middle and Senior Secondary blocks, students whole heartedly took to the virtual platform, glorifying the Indian spirit of unity and brotherhood. The event was brought alive, as the students shared the heroic stories of our leaders who laid the foundation for the world’s largest Democracy. The teachers emphasized on this day as being truly historic and for each of us to remember our National heroes and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to give us a Republic Nation. The spirit of pride and honour was palpable as the enthusiastic students marked the day with patriotic songs, dances, skits, drawings, sketches and reciting patriotic poems. The beaming smiles and the tri coloured clothes that were donned by the students, were significant of the immense pride children take in being the citizens of this great Republic – India. Corona virus have taught us, that irrespective of the situation we are in, we must not forget important events –and the online platform was yet another effective way of being able to be a part of these celebrations. Through these activities, children learnt how it took decades and numerous struggles for our Freedom fighters to attain Independence. It is said – ‘let every teacher teach and instill the beauty and magnificence of our Nation to the youth of our country.’ The Principal Ms. Monica Chawla send her warm wishes to the children on this great day and hoped that the students felt joy and pride in being Indians. She hoped that peace would reign in our country today and everyday.
