With the class X board exams postponed, students have got a longer time to study and prepare for these all important exams. To assist students to go through this testing time , St. Joseph’s , Sector 44D , had an online counselling session for the class x students on the 14th and 15th of January respectively. The counsellor of the school, Ms. Manpreet  Chanana , gave a talk to the students on the topic – ‘How to beat exam stress’. There were many valuable tips given to students during this talk. Some of the points covered were how to keep negative thoughts away, to exercise and do yoga and meditation, which are important ways to relax oneself. The value of good eating habits and the importance of good quality sleep were also dealt with , which are indeed a necessity for young students during this crucial time of preparation. With the help of a PPT, the counsellor also spoke of how to prioritize important tasks and how to manage time effectively during this time of study.

Having confidence in one’s abilities, taking breaks while studying and setting goals were some of the highlights of this talk.

All queries of students were answered by the counsellor. Such sessions become imperative as the exam days draw closer by the day. These sessions are done on a regular basis in the school, as they help boost confidence of the youngsters.

The Principal of the school, Ms. Monica Chawla has always encouraged such sessions which benefit the students in various ways. The students also feel they have someone to share their exam phobia with  and what better way than to discuss with their  experienced  teachers and a seasoned counsellor .
