Honing Teachers skills through Seminars

The key to success is dedication to lifelong learning.

The demand of educating young minds in the modern day has risen manifold and so has the need for learning and upgrading the teachers with new skills. The school ensures that its teachers are abreast of contemporary 21st Century teaching techniques that translate into effective skills, attitude and behavior and nurture globally competent students.

Keeping in with the tradition, Miss Anita Rana from the Eco Club attended a seminar on the theme- Clean Environment for Sustainable Future, 2021 on 18th of March at the Botanical Garden in which Ms. Dipika Gandhi, Professor Dev Samaj College along with Mr. Sachin addressed the participants.

The seminar was organized by the Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration where the conspicuous speakers shared knowledge so as to encourage schools and students to practice environment friendly activities. Innovative ideas with respect to creating an Eco- friendly environment were shared. The schools were motivated to promote the same through various competitions and events to be organized at school during the upcoming session. Some of the ingenious ideas included creation of Vertical Garden on Walls and Terrace farming, use of haldi, mehandi and roli instead of artificial colours, energy monitoring in classrooms by the use of sub meters, etc.

In order to celebrate their success stories in the field, the organizers asked the schools to publish “Green Journals” wherein they can boast of their accomplishments in the direction of creating an Eco- friendly environment. The prominent speakers also talked about sharing of ideas amongst schools and institutions, keeping in mind the interest of saving our earth at large. The seminar culminated with a workshop on Bonsai plants, addressing the teachers about their techniques of growing and their importance to the environment. Overall, the seminar was a great learning experience for the teachers who came back with a great take away and determination to promote an environment in accordance with our sustainable goals.
