World Malaria Day was celebrated by the Primary II Block of St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44 D, Chandigarh.
Dr. Megha informed all the students about the causes, symptoms and preventive measures to be taken to fight Malaria and also gave tips to avoid mosquito bites by using insect repellents, covering your arms and legs and use of a mosquito net.
The students took a pledge to keep their surroundings neat and clean and avoid the collection of stagnant water to prevent the spread of malaria.
Fight against malaria has been made more difficult by the COVID – 19 pandemic and more challenging.
Students of Class IV made posters covering messages and precautions to be taken to prevent malaria. Not only this, students came up with ideas to educate more people in the neighbourhood to join hands to work on the theme of this year : “Zero malaria starts with me. Help us to move towards a malaria free world.”
I raise my hand to defeat malaria. Are you with me?
