Zealously celebrating the Bharat Ka Mahotsav week

Natural resources are something that is occurring naturally on Earth. It forms an indispensable part of our lives.However, they are exploited by humans for economic gain. Natural resources are at depletion at present because of the overuse. Some of these resources are available in abundance with the capability to renew. On the other hand, some are non-renewable. Thus, it demands a responsible behavior for their conservation so as to ensure their sustainability.
Being cognizant to above, students and teachers of Middle Block, St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh, celebrated “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” week with the theme “Green Good Deeds”. Keeping in mind the dire necessity to conserve the natural resources that our mother earth has disposed to us, students enthusiastically participated in assorted activities being organised by the block. Students wore their creative caps and came up with exemplary products made out of waste material. To name few are, Paper Bags, Dustbins, Wall Hangings, ATM Machines and what not. Virtually, they dissertated over importance of saving fuel by sharing flow charts with various ways of doing the same. Few, depicting their talent of videography, shared their videos on wastage of water and ways to overcome it.
Everyone enjoyed the activities, whether participants or spectators. On the last day, teachers associated with the Eco-Club acquainted the students with the immediate need of conserving the natural resources and enhanced their knowledge about 5R’s – reduce, reuse, repurpose, refuse and recycle. Principal, Ms Monica Chawla, lauded the efforts of the students and stressed over the fact that how important it is to give back to the nature for all the treasures it has given us.
