As a part of World Yoga Day celebrations, students of Primary 2 block of St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh took active part in inculcating yoga as a part of their daily routine.
The teachers explained and showed different asanas for the students of classes 4 and 5
which can be easily practiced at home to remain physically and mentally fit. The students were made aware of the benefits of yoga which will help them to reduce stress, manage anxiety, improving concentration and memory etc.
The students participated with great enthusiasm and learnt and practiced various asanas like Tadasana, Sarvangasana, Naukasana, Bhujangasana, Shavasana etc. along with their parents and grandparents.
The motive behind this was to establish a healthy and disciplined routine among students and wanted the students to really experience these health benefits and remain healthy.
The take home message for the students was to “Learn, Practice and Inculcate Yoga in their life and stay healthy especially during this stressful time of pandemic’.
