Sensitizing the students towards the Magic of Gratitude
“Give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food and the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies with yourself.” “When you’re grateful for the things you have, no matter how small they may be, you will see those things instantly increase.” – Rhonda Byrne
Meaning of Gratitude is, thanking and showing our gratefulness to God or to people who are in our lives. God has created us in his own image and he has given us many things and many people in our life and more than anything he has given us our life itself. So, he really deserves our gratefulness for all good and bad taking place in our lives. If we are not Grateful for what we have, we will never have more things in life and we will lose what we already have. It doesn’t matter what religion we follow, or whether we are religious or not, these words from the Holy scriptures apply to our life. They are describing a fundamental law of science and of the Universe.
To make today’s young generation feel grateful for this life given to us, the treasures of nature provided to us and for getting an opportunity to be safe with our families at home in this time of pandemic, students of Middle Block, St Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh, were asked to sit blindfolded virtually for a period of half an hour and share their experiences and feelings after it. They were made to realise the pain of those who cannot see, by undergoing this activity. They shared their feelings later, of being thankful to God for this beautiful life with all the gifts of nature and with heavy hearts they also thanked Almighty for keeping them safe although the pandemic.
Bringing the session to the end, teachers and students together prayed and thanked the Lord for always keeping his omnipresent eye on us and beholding the evil and the good, and for the well being of all humanity.
