ST. JOSEPH’S SPREADING THE JOY OF READING ON INTERNATIONALYOUTH DAY

St. Joseph’s Sen. Sec. School, Chandigarh celebrated ‘International Youth Day in collaboration with YUVSATTA NGO on 12th August. The aim of the programme was to support the establishment of a ‘Digital Library cum Resource Centre at Madrasa Eizahul- Uloom Mujahiddidi at Mansa Devi Road, Manimajra, Chandigarh for marginalized students. To encourage reading among the underprivileged children in slums and rural areas, St. Joseph’s donated books in various languages like Hindi, Punjabi, and English. The purpose was to set up a library for the children who can’t afford to buy the books so that quality education and reading can be brought within their reach. The NGO YUVSATTA appreciated the efforts of Josephians, who contributed 100% to encourage the kids in the times of Pandemic to march towards achieving their targets of life.
The Principal Ms. Monica Chawla emphasized the importance of a library ‘the house of books’ and appreciated the step taken by the school to empower the young minds by giving a much required education tool in their hands. The school management members, Mr. Sukhdeep Grewal and Mr. Paramdeep Grewal also admired the efforts that provided the required fuels to the analytical minds of the future leaders.
