ST. JOSEPH’S MARKED WORLD FIRST –AID DAY WITH A PLETHORA OF ACTIVITIES

FIRST – AID club of ST. JOSEPH’S SEN. SEC. SCHOOL CHANDIGARH marked World First Aid Day on 11 September by organising a plethora of activities to acknowledge the importance of First Aid in saving lives in everyday life and crisis. The day is marked to celebrate first aid and raise awareness about how important it is to understand basic first aid, which can save millions of lives worldwide. Josephians participated in various activities like Paper Reading and Poster – Making activities during virtual classes, emphasizing the significance of emergency care. Through Paper – Reading, students shared how one might suffer from minor injuries during playing or performing physical activities, which can be easily handled at the individual level by following basic First Aid steps. It is well known that unless timely first aid is provided, many severely injured people do not survive a road mishap. Josephites unleashed their hidden talent by preparing beautiful posters. Students used their artistic skills while showing different First–Aid techniques -particularly the proper positioning of the victim before the arrival of emergency response teams – which can mean the difference between life and death.

The school Principal Ms. Monica Chawla emphasized the importance of First – Aid and expressed her concern that millions of people are killed or injured every year because of a lack of adequate and timely assistance. She was appreciative of the efforts made by students in highlighting the importance of having first- aid knowledge and being able to identify potential hazards.
