“The National language is the spirit of our country and the character of its natives, Happy Hindi Divas to all.”
Hindi Diwas is celebrated as a day specially dedicated to our mother tongue, Hindi, because it was on this day in the year 1949 that Hindi was adopted as the official language of the Republic of India. It is a way to pay respect to Hindi language which is deeply rooted in our culture. It is a reminder that no matter where ever we go in life, we must value and respect our language and culture.
The day calls for a celebration and is thus celebrated with great enthusiasm each year all around the country. Students of, Kindergarten and Middle Block, St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh, celebrated the day with great zeal by participating in an array of activities that were conducted to celebrate ‘National Hindi Day’ i.e. Hindi recitation, shloka vaachan, slogan writing, poster making etc , thus curating splendid pieces of writing.
They were motivated to respect our national language, embrace it whole- heartedly and always be proud of. Hindi department also shared their views on the same with the students, encouraging them to come up with more writing material in Hindi language as well.
Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla, addressed the students too, putting emphasis on the fact that despite its archaic and significant roots, the Hindi language doesn’t get its due acknowledgment and gets overshadowed by the ‘intellectual’ aspect of the English language. She made the students understand that just like English binds the world together, Hindi in our country is a bridge that connects people and adjourned the event.
