“The occasion of World Rivers Day is a reminder that the onus of saving rivers lies on us and we must fulfil our responsibility…. Happy World Rivers Day.”
World Rivers Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of September every year to increase public awareness about rivers and to encourage their conservation. It is a celebration of the world’s waterways. It highlights the many values of our rivers, strives to increase public awareness, and encourages the improved stewardship of all rivers around the world. Rivers in every country face an array of threats, and only through our active involvement can we can ensure their health in the years ahead.
Understanding the urgent need to protect our rivers, students of Middle Block, St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh, celebrated the day with a lot of zeal and sense of responsibility towards nature. Students curated multiple pieces of art each depicting the present state of our rivers, need to protect them and future consequences and hazards on mankind if not conserved them. Their marvellous slogans and self defining posters were the biggest eye-openers for all.
Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla, in the endapprised the students for the urgent necessity to conserve our natural resources and work towards preserving and protecting them
