United Nations Day marks the birthday of the founding Charter – UN Charter, the landmark document that embodies the hopes, dreams and aspirations of ‘we the people’. UN Day, celebrated every year, offers the opportunity to amplify the common agenda and reaffirm the purposes and principles of the UN Charter of promoting human rights, diversity and progress across the world, that have guided the nations for the past 76 years.
The day was celebrated with the students, with a lot of pomposity, and keeping in mind its grandiosity, an array of activities were conducted in St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh. Middle Block students recited self-composed poems on peace and brotherhood, and equality of all caste and creed, urging the spectators to break all barriers and enjoy a life of togetherness. Beautiful posters with jaw-dropping sketches and slogans were shared by them, with images comforting the souls of peace lovers. Students of Senior Secondary Block, had shared videos apprising about the principles governing the working of UN, highlighting the need to be united in the establishment of world peace and brotherhood.
Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla, concluded the event by sensitizing the students about the importance of UN Organization, it’s functions, it’s ways and methods of directing the nations to maintain peace and brotherhood.
