Awareness drive on International Anti – Corruption Day Held
Students of Senior Secondary and Secondary Block of St Joseph’s Sr Sec School observed International Anti – Corruption Day in school.
The theme for the International Anti-Corruption Day 2021 is: “Your right, your role: Say no to Corruption.” Reeling under the impact of Covid-19, when the efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals have suffered a major blow, it is important that the rights and responsibilities of every individual stakeholder in tackling corruption are highlighted – including Public & Private Sectors, Law enforcement agencies, Civil society organizations, Academia, Media and Youth. Keeping this in mind Innovative ways were coined to strengthen the unbiased and honest thought process of the torch bearers of tomorrow to bring about a positive change in the mindset of the youth.
Students’ active participation in making ppts, posters, awareness talks, and administering the Pledge to stay away from any form of corruption was lauded by the school principal Ms. Monica Chawla. She quoted Angel Gurría, OECD secretary-general saying “Students have to be taught as fundamental values.” — “Integrity, transparency, and the fight against corruption have to be part of the culture.
