‘Talk to yourself once in a day, otherwise you may miss meeting an excellent person in this world.’- Swami Vivekananda with his words inspired the youth to be self-conscious and it is practiced at St Joseph’s Sr. Sec School, Chandigarh regularly.

With the theme ‘It’s all in the mind’ the youth day which commemorates the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated by Josephites. In this 21st century the youth of the country offer a tremendous opportunity for driving social, environmental and economic progress not only in India but also globally with their competencies, skills, innovative ideas and entrepreneurship. That is why it is essential to acknowledge their importance and commendable contribution to the country.

National Youth day is also a way to remember the lessons of the most extraordinary leader, Swami Vivekananda, and spread awareness in the youth motivating them to contribute more to the country’s development. The theme of the year fits the current scenario also which is providing the tools of technology along with the conventional possibilities.

Josephites remembered Swami Viveknanda through his preaching and famous quotes that lead them to be more spontaneous, courageous, mindful and empathetic. Teachers shared a presentation with students and held discussions to inspire them for making the world a better place. The Principal Ms. Monica Chawla reminded students that ‘True guidance at school is like a small torch in a dark forest, it doesn’t show everything once. But gives enough light for the next step to be safe’ by quoting the famous monk and philosopher.
