Josephites Pays Tribute to the ‘Lion of Punjab’

Lala Lajpat Rai Anniversary is celebrated in India every year on 25 th January to proclaim the glory of ‘Lion of Punjab’,who sustained serious injuries while leading a non-violent protest against commission and devoted his life to India’s Independence.To mark the day myriad activities were conducted at St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44D Chandigarh to provide students a platform to delve on the deeper meaning of Lalaji’ thought and find relevance of his ideals in our contemporary world.
Students of Class Vlll made ‘One Minute Video’s, sharing moving anecdotes of Lalaji’ life portraying the life history of Lajpat Rai which proved to be a fruitful endeavour as it left every participant with a deeper understanding of the eternally applicable doctrines of Lalaji’.
Poster Making and Poetry Recitation Competitions were also organised related to his life events for the students of Class Vl and Vll th. The students recited a number of poems in the praise of the leader. Students came up with picturesque and scintillating ways to express their love and respect for Lalaji’.
The teachers apprised students about the life and teachings and political thinking and career of Lalaji’.
The revered Principal Ms Monica chawla in her message remembered the sacrifice and selfless service of Lalaji.She further asserted on issues and problems, which the Indian society was facing in the present times. She also focused on how the teachings and way of living of freedom fighters could still help address present problems of people as well.
