HELPERS HONOURED AT ST.JOSEPH’S ON LABOUR DAY
Labour Day is celebrated all across India on the 1st of May to commemorate the contributions of the working class and to celebrate their efforts and achievements.
This day was marked with much fervour and enthusiasm at St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44 D, Chandigarh.The day began with students welcoming the helpers of the school with the traditional Tilak ceremony, garlands and showering of Petals. A significant and meaningful ceremony of planting saplings by the workers was then carried out . The plantation was done with immense pride and joy by all the workers of the school.
A program was organised in which awards were given to all the deserving workers for their untiring endeavours towards the Institution. The workers who have remained loyal and worked for more than 25 years, were recognized for their tireless services. Interesting titles were also given to each of the workers which made them feel truly special. An entertainment programme was also organised in which songs, poems, games and the ever popular Bhangra kept everyone enthralled. The highlight of the morning were the stalls that had been put up with mouth watering delicacies prepared and served by students. Another stall had interesting accessories like bangles, make up items and caps. All efforts were made to make these helpers feel so very special, as the students did nail art and put mehndi on the lady helpers to show their appreciation for their praiseworthy services.
Director Sir along with management members appreciated the valuable contributions of the helping staff in smooth functioning of the institute. They also wished them good health & happiness, now & forever.
The Principal Monica Chawla initiated this unique program for all the helpers, for she firmly believes that the help rendered by the workers can never be taken for granted. Moreover, the active participation of the students in such events, enables them to appreciate the efforts of the helpers. The members of the Management were all praise for the efforts of the staff and students and wished the workers on their special day.
