Josephians Embark on Altruistic Venture- Book Donation Drive
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
St. Joseph’s Sen. Sec. School, Chandigarh participated in the Philanthropist endeavour ‘Kitaban Da Langar’- Book Donation Drive organized by the Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration in collaboration with Yuvasatta & SLSA-State Legal Services Authority to mark the 161 st anniversary of Guru Rabindranath Tagore. The mission of the drive was to develop a culture of reading as it takes a child a long way.
Embarking upon the same, Josephians decided to spread the light of knowledge.Under this program, around 1200 books were donated to Govt. Model Girls School, Sector 18 Chandigarh to enhance their reading opportunities. Josephian family felt proud to share their storybooks,
competitive exam books, spoken English books, novels, books of moral values, biographies on scientists, famous personalities and writers etc.
The conscientious efforts of all proved to be successful as the students were spotted donating earnestly. They not only did initiate a noble cause but also lend a hand to the students who have an urge to study and perform well in their life.
The school was also honored with a trophy for participating in a noble cause as it added to the previous list of laurels bestowed on the Josephian family.
The Principal expressed her gratitude to the organizers for floating such a noble initiative and being a torch bearer for all of us.
