JOSEPHIANS MARKED WORLD TELECOMMUNICATIONS DAY
St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh marked World Telecommunications Day with a plethora of activities. The day is celebrated on 17th May since 1969.This day celebrates such an important aspect of human life i.e., Communication. The theme of the day in 2022 is ‘Digital technologies for Older Persons and Healthy Ageing. It is said that “Communication is the real work of leadership and any sufficiently advanced technology is equivalent to the magic.” The main goal of World Telecommunication Day is to highlight the importance of communication and how information travels across the world. The purpose of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) is to help raise awareness of the possibilities that the use of the Internet and other information and communication technologies (ICT) can bring to societies and economies, as well as of ways to bridge the digital divide. In Secondary Block, Josephites displayed their artistic skills through an array of E-posters/pamphlets. They unleashed their hidden talent beautifully while displaying the various telecom icons/symbols on the House Board amalgamating their artistic and technical skills. Students of class X and XII Humanities have joined hands to communicate the vitality of World Telecommunication Day.
School management members and Principal Ms. Monica Chawla appreciated the efforts of Secondary and Senior Secondary Block students. She said that ICT has become a core in the teaching-learning process. Online learning has gained popularity amidst the Corona pandemic to ensure that the learning continues. ICTs have looked after that education reaches through it worldwide and even in remote areas.
