 World Migratory Bird Day

World Migratory Bird Day

“Migratory birds connect people, ecosystems and nations. They are symbols of peace and of interconnected planet. To celebrate their epic journeys on the ‘World Migratory Bird Day’ a Poster Making Activity was organized for by the students of Primary II Block of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector- 44 D, Chandigarh.

The young Josephians came up with bright and colourful presentations highlighting the fascinating facts about various migratory birds, their habitats, mysteries about their migration .The aim of the activity was not merely to see the creative aspect but also to trigger the thought process of the students towards the threats faced by the migratory birds.

The coordinator Ms. Jyothi Belavadi who herself is a passionate bird watcher, delivered a talk to the students. The school principal, appreciated the students for putting up the wonderful efforts to raise awareness about migratory birds. She reinstated the fact that World Migratory Day is not only an opportunity to celebrate the great natural wonder of bird migration- but also a reminder that those patterns and ecosystems are threatened by climate change so we must join hands to boost up our actions to shield our winged friends and their habitats.
