St. Joseph’s Celebrates International Yoga Day

Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition .It embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfillment, harmony between man and nature or holistic approach to health and well being.
“The gift of learning to meditate is the greatest gift you can give yourself in this lifetime.” Keeping this in mind St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School ,Sector 44-D,Chandigarh, celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and fervor. A plethora of activities was organized to mark the International Yoga Day 2022. The event commenced with a pledge to imbibe Yoga as a ritual, as Yoga not only develops strength, coordination, flexibility and balance but also an awareness of the body, better focus and concentration.
Various Yoga asanas like Vriksha Asana, Tadhasan, Trikon Asana, Hastasan, Ustra Asana etc were practiced and performed by the students and the teachers under the expert guidance of the Yoga instructors .It was followed by a ‘Meditation Session’ to calm both the mind and the soul.
The innumerable benefits of practicing Yoga were explained to all the participants .The boundless peace of doing the Asanas was amply visible on the faces of the students and the mentors. Their zeal to stay fit was well evident in the large number of participation.
The excitement of the students was palpable as they exhibited their talent through self made videos ,showing how well they have lerant the intricate forms of Yoga.
The members of the management and the Principal Ms. Monica Chawla applauded the efforts of the students and asked the students to practice yoga every day to lead a healthy life and inspire others to do the same. She added, Yoga is the best natural cure to all aliments human race is suffering from .She emphasized on the importance of yoga and motivated the students and the teachers to make it an important part of their lives.
‘ Your body exists in the past and your mind exists in the future. In Yoga ,they come together in the present.’
