Josephites Proudly Celebrating Hindi Diwas
“Never forget that how powerful and scientific a language Hindi is and how blessed we are to learn it.”
The day 14th September is observed as National Hindi Diwas Day to promote Hindi as Matra Bhasha (mother tongue) of India and to propagate the Hindi language and its cultural heritage and values among the people of the country and abroad. On this day, the Hindi language was adopted as the official language of the country by the Constituent Assembly of India. It is a patriotic reminder to us celebrated with variety of activities like feasts, competitions, events, including other services.
To mark the day, student of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh, came together with patriotic fervour in them and celebrated the occasion by participating in varied activities. Kindergarten students, recited Dohas in Hindi with beautifully curated props along, while students of Primary I participated in ‘Sulaikh Pratiyogita’. Middle Block students curated advertisements and did activities related to synonyms in Hindi. Students were very excited and curiously participated in activities to be done in Hindi.
Faculty members of Hindi Department as well as teachers of other departments, contributed by writing self composed poems in Hindi. The collection of the poems by St. Joseph’s teachers will be published in a book shortly.
The Coordinator of the Middle Block, Ms. Rani Pal, applauded the efforts of the students and adjourned the event with her few words of wisdom and some quotes in Hindi apprising the students about the importance of the language in our lives and rich the literature of our Mother tongue is and we all must promote it in everywhere.
